We are currently seeking a Custom Editorial Manager to join the 1105 Government Information team.  This position can be remote from any place in the US.
Job Summary:
The Custom Editorial Manager serves as the managing editor of all custom (sponsored) print and online content within 1105 Government Information Group.  Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, writing, assigning, and editing content; managing copy flow, calendar, and freelancers; leading customer and speaker content calls for developing content; and moderating webcasts and in-person events, as needed. This position reports to the Custom Content Director.
Essential Job Functions:
• Keep current with news & trends in government IT market.  Ability to research and stay informed on important issues related to government IT
• Demonstrate interest in public sector technology
• Participate in client kick-off meetings for custom media programs and events
• Summarize client content goals and objectives for freelance writers
• Oversee freelance writers and monitor all content deadlines
• Write abstracts for event proposals and custom assets
• Maintain superior quality standards for all print and digital custom pieces
• Collaborate with the project management team to achieve sponsors’ marketing objectives
• Moderate webcasts, as requested
• Moderate event panels, as requested

• Bachelor’s degree required
• Minimum 5 years of editorial experience
• Expertise in AP Style
• Excellent collaboration  and customer service skills
• Manage multiple deadlines simultaneously in fast-paced environment
• Maintains excellent communication with stakeholders
• Exceptional organizational and time-management skills, plus attention to detail
• Must be a critical thinker and able to problem-solve in a time-sensitive manner

• Experience as an editor or sr. reporter in government IT or technology fields
