Position Overview

For two decades, TDWI (The Data Warehousing Institute), a division of 1105 Media., Inc., has been a leader in advancing the art and science of realizing business value from data.  TDWI provides an objective forum where industry experts, solution providers, and practitioners can explore and enhance data competencies, practices, and technologies.  Because of this approach we have developed one of the largest followings of data professionals, which is very attractive to technology marketers.  

We are currently searching for a Sales Director, Events who will be responsible for selling sponsorships to an existing group of top tier clients as well as acquire new accounts.  (The location for this position is flexible and can be outside of the WA area).

TDWI offers 20 high quality events per year, which is the largest number in the industry. We offer many formats from: World Conferences, Solution Summits, Executive Forums, and other Seminar and Symposium formats.


Essential Responsibilities
 
  • Proven experience in managing large complex enterprise marketing solutions to technology marketing organizations balanced with the ability to quickly qualify and close small and medium transactions
  • Consult with customers to be able to properly articulate the value proposition of a product package that exceeds customer goals and aligns with the business direction
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to ask thoughtful questions to uncover objections
  • Build excellent relationships with clients and prospects
  • Utilization of CRM tool on daily business and provide detailed weekly forecasts
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams and collaborate to develop effective solution
  • Experience in data or technology field is preferred
 
 Minimum Requirements

 
  • 5-7 years experience in marketing and advertising sales to the technology industry.
  • Track record of creativity in sales approaches and solutions
  • Track record of successfully meeting and exceeding sales goals in a business related to TDWI
  • Excellent client presentation and communication skills including email, phone, and face to face
  • The ideal candidate is energetic, self-motivated, team-oriented, and customer centric
  • Travel will be required for large strategic accounts and to attend various events throughout the year
